I went here a couple of nights ago after craving some Italian food. I've been to BRAVO! a few times before and it's never been my favorite, but after looking up and comparing many of the OKC Italian restaurants, I decided with BRAVO! again and plus, it has been a while since my last visit. Upon reaching at 8:45pm, nervous that we arrived too close to closing time, we were greeted by two friendly hosts who assured us that we were absolutely fine and that they close at 10pm...WHEW Our server was very friendly and something I specifically appreciated, was she was very knowledgable on the menu. We saw a picture from a fellow yelper of a salad and were betting on which one it was. Surprisingly since we are both foodies, both of us were wrong and the server pointed out which one it was and even suggested other options that were similar, popular, and tasty. I am one huge salad lover, so we decided to order two salads and share them: chopped salad, and the rustica. I anticipated that the rustica be delicious after reading the menu description that said fresh apples, spicy pecans, balsamic vinegar... MMM. But to my surprise the Rustica was quite bland. It could have used some lemon juice and a little stronger cheese maybe? Rustica salads many times include a type of cured meat which would add a lot of flavor. Since this salad is meatless, it might have been a lot better to have more flavor in the dressing or sprinkled with a flavorful cheese. Both salads had an appropriate amount of dressing though! At least for me who believes "less is more". I can't stand to have excess dressing at the bottom of my plate/bowl. Its like I ordered a salad not soup! Thank goodness Bravo! gets this concept. The chopped salad was similar to a Greek salad with tomatoes cucumbers chopped lettuce and some feta. It was pretty good. Light and refreshing. We were really craving a super thin crust style pizza. Bravo! offers a margarita flat bread. Although not on thin crust / flat bread, the Sicilian sounded really good too. So we did half margarita half Sicilian on the flat bread and it turned out pretty well. We asked for our salads to come out first, but the salads and pizza arrived at the same time. Not a huge deal, but we didn't get to enjoy our salads as much having the pizza with its chunks of tomato, fresh basil, and gooey mozzarella chunks staring at us! Oh and the bread... Soft and doughy with just a nice crisp on the outside. And good flavor. I enjoyed it with balsamic vinegar. The environment is appealing. Quiet and romantic but not too much so. Not stuffy and still a nice place to go with a group. Their food quality also remains consistent.

Wonderful Wedding and Dinner We worked with Tosha to reserve the private dining room for a family wedding and dinner. The room was setup exactly as requested including flower arrangements on each table. Two waiters were assigned to our group of 27 and they provided excellent service from the wine through helping us with our wedding cake. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals including three gluten free attendees. We can say nothing but the best from our experience and would not hesitate using Bravo again.

I can not emphasize enough how much I love to eat here! My fiancé and I eat here every year on February 14th (sometimes even during the year when we crave it so much). It is our special spot for Valentine's! We will be going back for our 5th Valentine's together in eleven days soon! I already know exactly what to order. This is how well I know the menu.

Went on a Saturday afternoon with some family. Considering its a Italian restaurant, one would think that I would have ordered something from Italian side of the menu. Needless to say I got a egg burger. The service was pretty good. The food was just average.

This was decent. Sat at the bar and had a solo dinner. Chop salad was a bit soggy and lacking crispness but my spaghetti and meatballs was tasty. Place was dead on a Monday night. Service at the bar was fine.

This place had food. I got to try the food after an hour waiting for said food, then them messing up my order and taking another 20 minutes to fix. Next time, I will go elsewhere for food.

Great! I love the luncheon specials. I had the salad with crispy shrimp. The ambience is and service are both very good!

Food and service were excellent. But, if you can, go sit and eat at the bar. Bar bites, happy hour in the bar area. Way too expensive otherwise in the main dining room. Still was great.

My husband, mom, and I went to celebrate my birthday. Our waiter Craig took such great care of us. He made sure our drinks never ran empty. My mom and I both got the margarita pizza and it was amazing! My husband got a pasta dish that was yummy. I also got a salad which was great. For my birthday dessert, I got two nice size scoops of ice cream with a strawberry. Best Ice cream ever! My husband and mom also got desserts which were fantastic! We are all ready planning our next visit again soon! Request for Craig next time you come in!

I ended up eating here because PFChangs next door had a 50 minute wait. Best thing to happen ever! I loved the vibe at Bravo. I sat at the bar and the Peach Bellini is a must get. The chicken and vegetable pasta was the perfect portion and flavor was amazing. The strip steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare and the mashed potatoes tasted like something my mom used to cook! The vanilla bean creme brulee is a musy have. Perfect ending to my meal. I will definitely be coming back here. Seems like a place where I can order anything and not go wrong.

The veal parmesan is very reasonable for the portion size, but the breading was a bit soggy. The caesar salad was great and they will add anchovies if you ask. I sampled the pork chops and they were great.

Very nice decor. Our server was not the best but the food was excellent. My husband had the spaghetti and meatballs-he is very picky and requested the marinara sauce and loved his meal. I had the manicotti and practically licked my plate clean. The house salad is excellent and the house bread with the herbed oil is awesome.

If you don't feel like reading, I will sum it up: Olive Garden is better, and it pains me to say that. Prices are also fairly high. When you walk in the building makes you have pretty high hopes, sadly that goes away. Started with the calamari. It comes out with marinara and a "creamy horseradish" sauce poured on opposing sides of the plate which was disappointing, some pieces were covered in sauce. Most places serve that on the side, especially since the "creamy horseradish sauce" tasted like mayo. The calamari itself was tender but had too much batter on it. The bread sticks were dry, and the only thing you tasted was rosemary. The dipping oil was quite odd, hints of spice and a bizarre red-ish orange color. Next was the lasagna.... It was the most depressing. It came out in a boat with a healthy portion. The sides had very little marinara ("meat sauce") and instead of cheese being on top it was Alfredo sauce (I'm aware that's what it says on the menu). The meat inside tasted like a very cheap ground sausage that was full of fennel. The cheese cake was recommended by the server, when it came out I was convinced this would be a turn for the better. It was laying on its side in a pool of a thin vanilla cream sauce. The top of the cake had a thin layer of crème brûlée topping, and a strawberry to finish it off. I thought that this might be the turning point of the meal! I was wrong. The cake itself was very mushy, almost like it had sat in a warm area for too long. The flavor was odd and slightly more savory than normal cheese cakes. The topping was good, and the vanilla cream did help with the oddness of the cheese cake flavor. I'm aware Oklahoma City is lacking in fantastic Italian food so I do take that into consideration when rating them. All in all, it was "Okay"

Great happy hour specials!! Drinks are great and service was good! Food is pretty good. It wouldn't be a regular for me: an older crowd, not a "happening" place. If you're looking for a drink after work with a girlfriend, it definitely fits the bill!

If you are a young professional, prepare to be treated exceptionally poorly. My family and I *called ahead* for seating availability and wait time, which we were assured would be no longer than 30 min. After an hour of waiting - and a few irritating inquiries - we left. The staff was extremely discourteous to us to the point of discrimination. Several tables were sat ahead of us (did I mention we have two young children) of equivalent party sizes, after being told repeatedly that we were next. I do NOT recommend this place to anyone who is in our demographic or wants to be treated with dignity and respect.

Not very impressed by Bravo. The entrees where good, nothing extraordinary or something that stood out above the competition. But the prices stood out! Expensive for what you get in terms of quality. However, the service was very good, checked up on us a number of times and was very nice. I ordered the chicken scappolini and it was a good sized portion but still the quality is just average for $17!!! The bread and olive oil were again good but not great. Overall a very average experience. There are cheaper, better italian restaurants in the area.

Keep in mind, it is a chain Italian joint. In other words, you know it isn't going to be the Italian food that you'll find in a mom and pop restaurant. That being said, this was sub-par. The first time I ate hear, it was "okay." Not good, not bad. The next two times I tried it, it was mediocre at best. On a scale of 1-10, 1 being no intestinal damage and 10 being blown out colon, this was a 6.

Bravo is like our 'Cheers', at least one of them. There are at least a dozen restaurants in the area, probably 2 dozen but Bravo is only one my husband and I go to and we eat out almost every meal. We go there at least twice a week for dinner and drinks. The bar area is where we like to sit and the staff are always friendly with good service. The bread served with oil is great!!! It's hard not to eat too much of it! I love the chopped salad with chicken or salmon and the Mediterranean Grilled Vegetable salad is delicious and vegetarian. The appetizers are all good and during certain hours under $4 (in the bar). Another thing I like is that they have a lite menu which has actually helped me lose a few pounds! We also frequent some pricier restaurants and honestly believe the food is just as good and sometimes better at Bravo.

Great food and service. Nice atmosphere. I had fettuccine bolognese, with tiramisu for dessert. One of the best Italian meals I've ever had! The bolognese sauce was prepared in the classic manner. The tiramisu was fresh and authentic. Nice casual but elegant atmosphere. The service was excellent. This is a nice choice for a special occasion or simply a casual Saturday afternoon lunch.

Have eaten here a number of times. Love the bread pudding! It seems reviews can swing one way or another on any given day depending on time, staff and mood. I can't say we have ever had any major complaints. Once in a while we have had to wait, but that is normal at a lot of places at prime time on the weekends. The food has always been fine as far as we were concerned. We are not food snobs. We are not expecting a 10 star meal when we are paying $40 or $50 bucks. It is what it is. We have never gone away hungry or thinking we would never go back again. It's right next to PF Changs and Red Robin.

We ate at Bravo in Oklahoma City next to PF Changs (despite our better judgment) last night. We had a party of ten and were seated right away, which should have been an indicator of the quality of the restaurant considering it was a Friday night. I ordered the BRAVO Classic Italian Pork Chops at the server's recommendation (a $20.00 dish). I don't usually order pork at restaurants, but the server insisted that it was an excellent dish. It wasn't. It really wasn't anything more than a balsamic glazed piece of average pork served with a pile of mush they called potatoes and chewy, overcooked green beans. My wife ordered a rigatoni dish and, after a few bites, she became light headed. This was probably due to the fact that the temperature in the restaurant was around 85 degrees despite 70 degree temperatures outside. Anyway, the food in combination with the hot temperature caused her to become physically ill before we even left the restaurant. She had ordered one mojito, which she had taken one sip of before she became ill, and the manager would not remove her drink from our bill! Needless to say, for two drinks, no appetizers, and two entrees, our total bill was around $75.00 with tip. We left the restaurant feeling angered and taken advantage of. If you are looking for quality italian food in Oklahoma City, I HIGHLY recommend Sophabellas, which has, by far, the best pizza I have ever had and is much less commercialized than BRAVO. Do yourself a favor and AVOID Bravo! Cucina Italiana.

Lovely decor and outdoor patio. Very good service. The food was very good as well. They did forget the chicken that I had asked to be added to my pasta plate, but brought some out promptly when I brought it to their attention. Overall a very good experience.

we rate this place up there with our home town san diego service, the best place in okc to eat, drink and catchup with old friends, quiet setting and the food was PERFECT, strong drinks, and very friendly staff.. as always thanks again!!!

Service was great! Food avarage at best and way over priced. Chicken in my daughters pasta tasted like it had been boiled sliced and hidden under the sauce. Wife sent back her chicken diablo the pasta was under done and chewy! Although the server did a great job it could not make up for the very expensive sub par food.

This is the best Italian chain in OKC. Their calamari is about as good as anything I had while I was in the New England area. The service is hit and miss, but you come to expect that in a resteraunt of this size.

Wow...I had brunch here last Sunday, and the experiance almost brought tears to my eyes. Now granted - I am 9 months preggo here, and a lot of things bring tears to my eyes now, but this place had an ambiance that I have not experienced since leaving Marin county, and it made me so homesick. It was classy. The dining room was formal enough to feel like this was a special outing, but not so formal to make me feel out of place in nice jeans and a cute sweater. The food was delicious. I had 2 eggs, bacon, home fries and toast, as well as some fruit from my friends plates. It tasted so fresh, and so light, not at all like the heavy biscuit and gravy breakfasts that are usually served around here. We sat and talked for a long time, and never felt rushed to leave. I hope to come back again and again.

Date night in OKC. My date was an Oklahoma transplant; an Italian woman born and raised in Queens. A picky eater I am not, so I deferred our choice of restaurant to her. She suggested Bravo, which is an Italian restaurant located at Penn and Memorial next to P.F. Changs. Who was I to argue? We arrived around 7, and as is typical of popular restaurants on a Saturday night, was told there would be a 45 minute wait which is not too bad. We took a seat at the bar and some 30 minutes later our pager went off. Bravo is a pretty nice place. Very open and not too loud for a larger venue. I ordered the Petite Filet with Shrimp, and my date ordered the Manicotti, which prompted this amusing exchange: Server: And what would you like? Date: I'll have a house salad with vinaigrette and the Manna-GOTZ (told you she was a real Italian) Server: ? Date: (Pointing at the menu) The Manna-GOTZ Server: Oh, the Manna-COTTY Date: (raising an eyebrow) Yes, the Manna-GOTZ Mild hilarity ensued. But I shouldn't laugh, my pronunciation of Pho is still questionable at best. Our food arrived, and it was pretty good. My steak was a bit dry but tasty, as were the accompanying veggies and potatoes. My date said the Manna-GOTZ was very good, so I'd take that as a professional opinion. Service could have been more attentive; our server did come by a couple of times but at very infrequent intervals. Overall a pretty good meal. I'll have to try their more traditional Italian offerings to be sure, but the steak and service for this visit merits only 3 stars. I would return.

This review is concerning the take-out service only. We've had good experiences dining in, but this one was horrible. They lost our 107.00 order due to this. And we'll seriously consider never eating there again via curbside. We often eat takeout and it's a big plus with the curbside service some restaurants are offering these days. Bravo is no different in this respect. Parking for curbside is right up front and there's always a spot open. The curbside was clean and appealing with a good view from the inside to the cars parked so you're not waiting forever. Well, that's how it should be anyway. Curbside service really shines when customers can place an order easily, then pick up their food in a hurry. Any wait time longer than about 4 minutes will start to play on customer's psyche. Two radio songs into any curbside pickup waiting and you'll be wondering if there's anyone inside the building at all. Our Bravo experience began with a phone call where a guy named "John" answered with a snippy "Bravo." No questions, just a flat "Bravo" in a tone that said, "How dare you call my phone. It takes too much time out of my day to answer." Pushing through, I said, "Hi, I'd like to place a takeout order please." John replied in a very high pitched voice, "Can you just HOLD PLEASE." I thought, Hmm, must be a bad day. Exactly 6 minutes into my "hold please" I considered hanging up altogether but at this point I wanted to get "John" back on the phone and see if maybe I was expecting too much. A woman returned to the phone and said, "Bravo, what can I get you?" I began, "Yes ma'am, I'd like - " "It's SIR" the woman said with a very snotty tone. "Oh, I'm sorry. I uh.....I'd like to place a to-go order please" "This is John. What do you want to order." he said. I went ahead and placed our order, pausing several times as John snottily recited his lines. This guy was PISSED, which I could understand if it was just the misdiagnosed identity but this began from the time he answered the phone. It was absolutely ridiculous. I finished placing my order but as I hung up I had second thoughts. This guy seemed to hate his job and anyone that called to purchase food (and thus pay his paycheck). The constant attitude from the "Can you HOLD PLEASE" until "What do you want to order" gave me the impression of someone standing with their hands on their hips and snapping their fingers back and forth. We mulled it over for a few minutes before deciding not to pick up the order. We placed an order with PF Changs next door instead (and it was awesome). We figured there was no sense in eating John's spit just because he felt he needed to get back at the world for having a bad day. We could have been wrong, but I'd bet money we weren't. Eat here at your own risk. Eat at John's table at your own peril.

This is one of the better Italian chain restaurants. Love their bread. Nothing to write home about but consistent and good food at a reasonable price.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
